Who is a Beauceron suitable for?
The Beauceron is a rarely seen French shepherd that is very loyal to its owner. Originally a form of watchdog, they are highly protective yet have a silly side, often being described as clowns with a sense of humour.
Our CezarBlue Beauceron puppies are an excellent option for owners looking for an active and sensitive dog with many of the traits of our beloved Dobermanns without some of the health issues associated with the breed. Our Beaucerons are wonderful family guardians and especially good with small children and other dogs.
The breed wins hearts as much for its endearing personality as for its multifaceted working ability. This combination makes them a unique option for active homes, certainly those looking to pursue sports as well as being fun-loving companions

What does a Beauceron need from you?
Due to their size and demands, a Beauceron is not for first-time owners, who might end up being owned by the dog instead of the other way around.
Because they are a powerful and athletic breed, in order to effectively look after one, you’ll need an active lifestyle that complements their need for exercise and enjoyment of challenging activities. However, they also require a great deal of mental stimulation, as they are highly intelligent. Beauceron puppies respond best to clear boundaries in place and consistent training from an early age.

Cezarblue’s Beauceron
A breed originally used to create the Dobermann, they share many personality traits together. Being an older and rarer breed, they have not suffered the inbreeding that the Dobermann has, and therefore they remain one of the healthiest breeds to own.
Beaucerons unusually have a double dew claw to help strengthen the wrist and originally evolved to help climb steep, slippery slopes. On top of this, they have a rougher and thicker coat to help them keep warm and dry in all weathers whilst moving their flocks.
Our Beauceron puppies either have dark black coats with red accents and feet or a harlequin (Merle) black-grey-tan coat. Once grown, Beaucerons are muscular and large, making them imposing, powerful dogs. Despite their size, Beauceron have a soft side and are incredibly smart, sensitive, and graceful. They are natural-born strong leaders, making for amazing working dogs as well as fun-loving companions.
